'''Women The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) is a global multi-stakeholder partnership organisation that works to improve the lives of poor people. WSSCC enhances collaboration among sector agencies and professionals around sanitation and water supply and contributes to the broader goals of poverty eradication, health and environmental improvement, gender equality and long-term social and economic development. The activities undertaken by WSSCC were recognized in Europe for a Common Future''' the United Nations General Assembly resolution A/RES/45/181 of 21 December 1990. WSSCC is hosted by the World Health Organization (WECFWHO) is . WSSCC has a network of women's national WASH Coalitions in 36 countries and environmental organisations individual members in 30 nearly 100 countries throughout Central Asia . WSSCC works through three programmes: Networking & Knowledge Management, Advocacy & Communications and Europethe Global Sanitation Fund. WECF strives WSSCC ’s mission is to achieve sustainable water supply and sanitation for all people. Through Networking and Knowledge Management, WSSCC provides a Healthy Environment for All. We use women's potential neutral space in balancing environmentwhich individuals and organisations concerned with water, health sanitation and economy. WECF's activities are based on its partners individual visions and needs. Therefore WECF implements solutions locally hygiene for poor people in developing countries can network and influences policy internationallyshare ideas.
WECF is a network that works on the following issues: agriculture, chemicals, energy, genderThrough Advocacy and Communications, health WSSCC promotes global and water. Regarding water national advocacy efforts by members and sanitation, WECF works on the access partners to safe drinking water and proper sanitary facilities for everyone. When starting a project on this issue, WECF starts with raising raise awareness of the risks humiliating and harmful social environment of drinking polluted water. They provide the possibility for people unserved poor, especially women and children, and to test their own drinking facilitate lasting change by urgingplacement of water supply, adequate sanitation and explain their rights to safe drinking waterhygiene firmly on the political agenda.
WECF prefers to use preventive methods to improve the water quality. WECF fights Through the dump of household wasteGlobal Sanitation Fund, human and animal waste and pesticides and introduces methods WSSCC supports national efforts to help larger numbers of organic farming poor people to prevent pesticides from polluting the drinking water. WECF also installs ecological toilets with watertight containers to stop faecal bacteria leaking into the ground water. In case the results these preventive methods are not sufficient attain sustainable access to guarantee safe drinking water, WECF cooperates with experts, the local population, universities basic sanitation and governments to implement sustainable and affordable solutions.
